DiffEngineX reports the differences between two Microsoft Excel workbooks on Windows. It generates a difference report and color highlights the differences in automatically made copies of your spreadsheets. It requires Microsoft Excel (Excel 2003 upwards) to be installed on your computer. The difference report is a cell-by-cell listing, where each line shows the affected worksheet range (e.g. $A$1), original cell content and modified cell content. It compares cells (formulae, calculated values & constants), defined names, comments and VBA (Visual Basic for Application) macros. It does not compare formatting, graphs, charts or pivot table configurations. The VBA diff reports require Internet Explorer or Firefox. It can compare sorted data imported into Excel, but this is not what it is primarily intended for. The results are spread across two color highlighted worksheets. It inserts blank rows and columns in order to align similar rows between two worksheets. It has many powerful features such as the ability to hide unchanged rows and highlight differences at the character level. We recommend you use Excel’s built-in View-Side-By-Side (on Excel 2010’s View tab) or Compare-Side-By-Side-With (Excel 2003’s Window menu) functionality as it enables you to synchronously scroll through the two color highlighted worksheets. It is a desktop application, not an Excel add-in. It is invoked from your Programs Menu or from its desktop icon. It can also be run from the Windows Command Prompt or invoked from .NET software using the Process class. It accepts an extensive list of command line arguments. To activate the product, enter your Internet activation key (they begin with the capital letter X) in its Help->About/Registration box. In a small number of cases, corporate firewalls prevent this once-off activation. In this event email sales@florencesoft.com your unique Serial Number found on the Help->About box. As proof of purchase please include your Internet activation key.
